Decker has always been a "country" artist but this album is produced and marketed in a way that appeals to the pop market. Decker was adamant with the label to get greater control over her music following two previous singles failed. Her next release, Boys in the Summer was a more traditional album. The second album of Decker's was released with the name Daughter of a Gypsy, or Sweet American Dreams. Mercury put it on hold as three of her country singles performed poorly. The album was later canceled.
