Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four siblings was born on August 8, 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de-Domme. Her parents, who were a dentist and a school teacher were supportive and encouraged by her initial passion for drama and theater. She initially hoped to be a monkey expert was replaced by a desire to pursue a degree in theater and drama. The actress became famous as a child actress quickly and enjoyed great achievement. In 1998 after her studies, she participated in an French program for scouting talent on TV called Jeunes Premiers that was supported by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors prior to beginning her acting career in earnest. Though she was a student at the Institut Catholique de Paris and was a member of the church during her childhood, Tautou has stayed away from the Catholic tradition, saying that she's not Catholic. Along with her acting career she also pursued a modelling career. It is her turn to be the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and often called The Chanel Muse. In addition to her acting career she is also interested in photography. The actress recently showed some images during the Arles Film Festival under the name Superficial. Her work focuses on celebrity as well as the fame. It also features portraits of herself and special focus on journalists who have closely scrutinized Tautou following her rapid popularity following Amelie. Audrey Tautou's very first major performance, in the role of Amelie Poulain's lead actor in the film Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie poulain, earned the actress international fame. Amelie received international recognition because of its box-office success. The film was also recognized during awards ceremonies around the world. Amelie has been the most financially successful french-language film to hit the US. In the wake of this achievement, Tautou was featured in many movies ranging that ranged from British dramatics like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's film Un long Sunday of fiancailles. She then moved to Hollywood through Ron Howard's direction of the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code alongside Tom Hanks.
